The Vice Minister of Foreign Trade recommended that carriers verify the status of the routes before traveling to Peru due to blockade points in the neighboring country.
More than 900 trucks entered the country through Desaguadero, after being stranded in Peru due to the existing political-social conflict. He added that the carriers had not been able to cross the border crossing for almost eight days, so consular procedures had to be carried out to return them to Bolivia.
He also explained that a truce was decided by Desaguadero and through the National Customs Service, the number of personnel tripled to serve the largest number of carriers entering the national territory.
There are still blocking points in Puno Ilave and Juli, so it is recommended to check the status of the routes, which are constantly updated. This truce has been announced until January 4 or 7, and it is hoped that it can be pacified in order to gain access to Peruvian territory and its ports.
The vice ministry points out that around 12% of total exports in terms of value and 14% in terms of volume passed through Peruvian ports.
